Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between epoxy anchors and mechanical anchors?

Epoxy anchors bond rebar or bolts to concrete via chemical adhesion (bond strength 10–13 MPa), while mechanical anchors use expansion and friction. Epoxy anchors deliver higher load capacity, work in cracked concrete, and allow closer edge distances — making them the preferred choice for seismic retrofit and structural connections.

What rebar sizes can XINCHOR epoxy anchors support?

Our epoxy anchor range covers rebar from Ø8 mm to Ø40 mm. The 360ml cartridge handles Ø8–Ø32 mm, the 585ml heavy-duty cartridge handles Ø16–Ø40 mm, and the 650ml vinyl ester fast-set handles Ø10–Ø32 mm with full load in 30 minutes.

Are your chemical anchors seismic-qualified?

Yes. Our vinyl ester formulas (XQ-ZJ-V390 and XQ-ZJ-VF650) carry seismic C1 qualification for cracked concrete. The fast gel time (4–5 minutes) and high bond strength (≥12 MPa) make them suitable for earthquake zone applications per ACI 318 Appendix D requirements.

What is the cure time for epoxy anchor adhesive?

Our epoxy anchor XQ-ZJ-360 reaches full load in 24 hours at 25°C. At 10°C it takes about 48 hours. For urgent projects, our vinyl ester formula XQ-ZJ-V390 reaches full load in just 45 minutes at 25°C — ideal for time-critical installations.
